Description: Patent Prosecution/EE/ME/Chem

Position: Counsel

Notes: This small DC based IP boutique is looking to add a candidate with an electrical, mechanical, or chemical background with 6-10 years of experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications. (The firm does not have a biotech patent practice.) You will be working between application drafting and opinion like work/support with a prosecution docket although there would be opportunity to participate in litigation and other matters as they arise. The application drafting work is done in large part as flat fee. The billable target is 1200 (although the reality is most attorneys fall in the 1000-1200 range) - that is hours actually billed to clients (if it is flat fee arrangement, then the fee divided by the billing rate to get the hours). The compensation is based on billable production. There is a desire for the person hired to have a small book $100-150k.
