Description: In-House Patent Portfolio Assoc. Dir

Position: Associate Director

Notes: We've been asked to assist in locating an IP attorney who will help with the portfolio development group within a highly regarded pharma company focused on developing strategies to solidify the company's position through a deep understanding of their internal and relevant external patents of molecules, platforms and technologies. Working along with multiple groups within the company, this position identifies opportunities to enhance their strategic IP position, advising internal clients to license or otherwise form strategic collaborations, facilitate execution of agreements and provide IP transactional support once executed.

Particulars:

Conducting strategic IP due diligence, including the portfolios of competitors and potential collaborators; identifying opportunities for expanding the company's IP position and working with members of various business, legal, scientific and administrative groups within company to take advantage of such opportunities; providing IP transactional support for a wide variety of business transactions, including research collaboration and licensing agreements, clinical agreements, master services agreements, clinical trial agreements, MTAs, consulting agreements, vendor agreements, and confidentiality agreements; and monitoring internal and external developments around key molecules, platforms and other technologies to provide IP strategic support for early stage collaborations after execution.

Experience required is a minimum of 4 years at a law firm � additional in-house a plus. PhD in Life Sciences or related preferred (immunology would be perfect). Must have USPTO and a broad range of patent-related legal expertise including patent preparation and prosecution, IP due diligence, litigation, licensing and strategic counseling.

Reports to the Executive Director, Assistant General Counsel within the portfolio development group.

This is an immediate hire.
